Component Designer tutorial

Hi,
I have a requirement to create a custom component.
I have opened a 'Component Designer' perspective and create a new component.
I would like to run the component in the designer. When I right click on component and say 'Run as Job'
it is not working.
Can anybody tell me how to run or debug the component in the designer.

Hi
Push the component to palette first, and then use the component in a job like you used other components.

When I Right Click on component and say 'Push Components to Palette' then I get the message as 'User Component Folder is not Set'.
Can you please suggest where should I set the 'User Component Folder'

Go to windows-->preference-->Talend-->Components and set the user component folder.

I have already set this path as D:\installations\TOS\workspace
I am not sure what could be the path.
Can you please tell me what could be the path.

Hi
"user component folder" is the place where the custom components are stored, if you have already set user component folder, the custom components will be loaded into TOS! It is a general folder, you can create a folder let's call "user component" under D:/talend and set this path.
