Hive Connection Question

Can i read from Hive Table (on the Linux Hadoop Cluster) using Talend Open Studio V5.4 from my Desktop? is this supported? Do i have to install anything on my Desktop?
i have Hortoronworks Distribution version 2.0

You can definitely read data from Hive Table using tHiveInput component.

Use tHiveLoad if you wish to load from local machine (Linux or windows Desktop)

No. Because of this issue, https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/YARN-1298, everything won't work with HDP 2.0 if the Talend studio is installed on Windows and the cluster on Linux.
