NEXUS - Repository is unreachable

HI,
I am having some issues setting up NEXUS artifact.
Configuration, regardless of what URL I put it doesn't seem to work - I have done the following and from what I can tell it is runnng
sudo ./nexus restart
****************************************
WARNING - NOT RECOMMENDED TO RUN AS ROOT
****************************************
Stopping Nexus OSS...
Nexus OSS was not running.
Starting Nexus OSS...
Started Nexus OSS.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ed

There is in capital letters written the problem. Why do you ignore this?
Do not run the nexus application as root. Actually non application should run under the root user.

That doesn't really help -
$ ./nexus start
Password:
su: incorrect password
It's asking for the root password here isn't it?
Thanks,

The problem here is perhaps a wrong installation of the Nexus service. Nexus detects the attempt to run under the root account and warn you not to do this. You should talk to the guys having installed this service!
Under Linux application server NEVER ever run under the root account! This is a serious security threat.

hmm I have tried a fresh install on a separate server without any sudo or admin and still get this issue - is it possible that NEXUS just doesn't work? seems like most people end up using ARCHIVA?

Sorry my experiences with nexus are limited. I know from my colleagues they find nexus much more reliable and convenient and usually work with nexus.
It sounds like you have a enterprise edition. What about the Talend support?
