Suggested material for newbie

Hello Everybody,
I just finished my studies and just started my position as BI analyst. Since I'm a complete newbie regarding data integration, ETL and so on, I would like to ask you any suggestion, mainly, where should I start from? What knowledge base do I need to understand it properly? I have some base of data visualization, but now I'm having big troubles understanding this all new world.
Thank you in advance
Ps: we use Talend Open Studio for Data Integration 6.0

First, learn Java if you don't know it already. Many people will say you don't need it, but if you want to get really good at Talend you do. It is also a pretty good language to get to grips with.

Secondly, get hold of the Open Source product and find personal uses to try things out with. For example, DI (and ESB if you are interested) can be really useful at home or with your own data. Think about how much data you have with Google, Facebook, Yahoo, etc, etc. Talend is perfect for working with this. You can also use it with IOT technologies. I have put together some pretty useful home automation solutions at home with Talend DI and ESB.

Learning through dry business "Hello World" examples is boring. I used to train people in Talend products and found delivering boring course material so hard. Yet when I went "off-piste" a little, the students learnt more and were far more interested.

As an example of some of the "fun" stuff you can do with Talend, I put together a job to interact with Facebook to retrieve my Spotify listening history. It is certainly not a beginner job, but you can download it and try it out. My website has several similar tutorials. Take a look at the Facebook tutorial here ( https://www.rilhia.com/tutorials/using-talend-get-your-spotify-listening-history-facebook).

Good luck and just play about with it....

Hello,
Another idea for the beginning, watch the video on our site: http://2cb.li/5-desk
In the video you can see that it is easy to build a Desk and MailChimp integration in 6 minutes.
You can download Mailchimp and Desk trial components for free from our site: http://2cb.li/53-talendgeneral
You can find many useful components from Cloudbee site. We are focusing on building components to connect to different cloud services.
