Talend Studio after update from R2025-02 to R2025-05 unusable!

Hi all,

we are using Talend Studio 8 Cloud API Services Platform on Windows Server 2016.

We tried to update via Feature Manager from R2025-02 to R2025-05. When the update finished successfully, Talend Studio wanted to migrate the project, and we choose the "test" option.

After the migration test the Talend Studio opens but we have a lot of a lot of workspace error logs, saying "Unsupported or unrecognized format" and "FrameworkEvent ERROR" (see log files attached).

Additionally, the repository content is not visible (see screenshot on the left side).

Has anyone an idea, what went wrong while updating? We tried it several times, always the same behavior.

Thanks for help!

Best regards,

Thomas

Hello

My first idea is that the upgrade did not go smoothly and it would require a reinstall/repatch

Before, you can try to clean up talend studio cache by removing

Studio/configuration/org.eclipse.core.runtime

org.eclipse.osgi

Hi @david_lucas ,

Thanks for your reply.

Meanwhile I did a fresh reinstall of Talend Studio and updated it to the lastest release successfully.

I think that is the faster way than handling a faulty installation.

Best regards,

Thomas
