[resolved] Impossible to download mysql jdbc driver jar in TOS-DI 5.5.1-r118616
Hello.
I have a issue when I am creating a mysql connection in the metadata section. When I click on the check or finish button on the Database connection wizard, it appears a pop-up window (attached).
When I click on "Download and install" button, this window is frozen indefinitely.
I have realized that TOS expects mysql connector java V5.1.30, but this exactly version is not available in MySQL official site. The mysql connector version available to download is 5.1.33. Could it be a version conflict problem?
I tried to follow this documentation but I cannot find the menu option Help->Install Aditional Packages. How can I install the mysql connector?

Hi,
Finally I could install the plugin. I think that it was a matter of access restrictions in the Talend installation folder. Because I installed the TOS in Program Files directory.
Now I have installed the TOS in my home directory, and the module was installed correctly.
Thanks for your answers and patience

Hi,
Are you checking talend open studio user manual guide: https://help.talend.com/search/all?query=Identify+required+external+modules&content-lang=en
and https://help.talend.com/search/all?query=Install+external+modules&content-lang=en?
There is no "Install Aditional Packages" in Talend Open Studio but Talend Enterprise Products.
Best regards
Sabrina

Thanks for your response xdshi.
But, I have problems when the Jar Installation Wizard try to install the Mysql Connector Java. This wizard should install the module mysql-connector-java-5.1.30-bin.jar, but it is not installed. Are you sure that is not a mysql connector compatibility or missing file problem?
Regards,
Israel.

Hi,
Actually, we don't have this issue in Talend Open Studio 5.5.1(see my pic).
Is there any error popping up? Can you check your Modules(Window-->ShowView-->Talend-->Modules) to see if the status of module mysql-connector-java-5.1.30-bin.jar is Insatlled or not?
Best regards
Sabrina

Hi, I'm having a similar issue with
TOS DI 5.5.1
mysql connector J available: 5.1.34
mysql connector J needed by TOS DI: 5.1.30
My problem: I'm behind my company's firewall and the manual proxy setting doesn't work, so TOS DI cannot download stuff from outside. How can I tell TOS DI to use a certain version? In the Modules tab, it says it needs 5.1.30 for all of the items in the job, but I cannot seem to tell it to use 5.1.34.
TIA
regards
Michael

Hi Michael,
Have you tried to rename your 5.1.34 jar as 5.1.30 to see if it is OK with you?
Best regards
Sabrina
