Hi!!
Can I use Open Studio to extract data from an Oracle 10.2.0.4 Db and load it on a PostgreSQL 8.2.4?
My Oracle server is RHEL4 and the Postgres one is RHEL5.

Hi Daniela,
Yes you can; Talend offer components and connectivity to Oracle (version 8i to 11g), to PostgreSQL. Our solution is based on a CodeGenerator engine; it means that the code produce by our solution (Java, Perl, SQL) will be deploy and will be execute on several machine (Linux, Unix, Windows, AIX, ...) in 32 or 64bits architecture.

You don't need any other GUI, Talend offers corresponding components to to that, the job looks like:
tOracleInput--main-->tPostgresqlOutput
tOracleInput: extract data from oracle db
tPostgresqlOutput: load data into postgresql db.

Hi All!!
Can Talend be used to interchange data between the Oracle Db and th Postgres Db? I mean, send data from Oracle to Postgres and back from Postgres to Oracle whenever there's an update in the Postgres database.
... Can data be synchronized?

Talend Integration Suite (our supported version of Talend) has some additional features to help our users to work in collaboration projects, deploy/run/schedule their process on production and also to have more real time and professional features like the CDC (Change Data Capture).
The Change Data Capture in your case would be great; we have the capabilities to extract from the Oracle only the new/updated/deleted rows to load your PostgreSQL; and also to do the same CDC on your PostgreSQL to load the ORACLE in case of Update/Insert/Delete in your PostgreSQL.
This feature is very helpful and easy to use.

Talend Integration Suite is commerial version, you need pay for it.
