using tOracleRow to pre and post sql to source as well as target tables.

I'm not entirely sure whether this is the response you are after, but Talend provides the tPreJob and tPosJob components for processes that need to take place before and after the main flow. The tPreJob will ensure that whatever is connected is run before the main flow. The tPostJob is a bit more special since this will always run at the end, even if there has been an error in the main flow. This can be REALLY useful.

The just carry out that query in a subjob prior to your main query. For example....
