Q: How to implement a commercial SSL certificate for https access?
A:Commercial certificate being used for communication between the web browser (client) and the proxy must be replaced with a Signed Server Certificate from a trusted Certificate Authority. The following steps will need to be done to accomplish this:
Obtain a valid Signed Server Certificate matching the Proxy node URL, from a trusted Certificate Authority (such as VeriSign, GlobalSign or trusted Enterprise CA)
Import the above certificate into Windows Local Computer Certificate Store
Obtain the thumbprint for the above certificate
Configure the Proxy node to use the above certificate
Q: Do we still support cluster environment in Qlik Sense?
A: Yes. We call that multi-node deployment in Qlik Sense.
A:You don't need to get QT-Certificate actively. Every time when QRS(Repository Service) starts up, it will check the necessary certificate existence and regenerate them if nothing found in System.
Q: Did I catch that right, that I don't have to buy Qlik Sense server\engine license only token to use Qlik Sense?
A:Yes. It’s right. No CAL or SAL anymore for Qlik Sense licenses. Qlik Sense will still have ‘license’ concept for purchasing, however, the only difference among licenses is how many tokens you have bought. You can assign/consume tokens in different ways to achieve your requirement and deployment.
Q: Can coexist IIS and Sense in same machine?
A:This is right but only when IIS and Qlik Sense are configured on different ports to listen. For instance, IIS listens on 80 for http and 443 for https while Qlik Sense listens 81 for http and 444 for https.
Q: Is a local user needed both for installing and running services?
A: Actually, I had a wrong answer in Q&A, the correct answer is:
No, not necessarily. A domain account with local admin privilege is sufficient to install Qlik Sense. And if no specific user is appointed to run the Qlik Sense Services, Local System will be assigned to do the job. And that means you don’t need a local user to run the services, either. So the answer is ‘local use is not needed in both cases’.
Q: Will clustering spread even a single session (i.e. a large dashboard accessed by a single user) on multiple nodes ?
A:I don't think so. Various sessions are balanced among QPSs on a multi-node site. A single session won't be split up in that way.
From my knowledge the only one that is not possible is to install Qlik Sense Server onto a machine that already has QlikView Server.
Desktop clients can be mixed freely.
QlikView Server can actually be installed on the same machine where a Sense Server is already installed but only one at a time can be running!
Even if it had been possible to install both QlikView Server and Sense Server on the same machine it makes no sense as they will compete for the same resources on the machine.
Both need lots of memory and cpu thus it would not function very well.
