Hi @gpierezan

  • I agree - there is room for improvement, no doubt about it!
  • Qlik is following a process of reviewing Ideas from ideation page and implementing them. Did you create and/or vote for the ideas you need? I was in the same boat as you where some of the "obvious" features were missing and then I was guilty of not creating an idea. So now my process is to make sure I have an idea created, I ask people to vote for it and I wait to see if it gets traction. Then depending on the outcome I either complain or am happy when my idea gets delivered.
    • I looked up and there are no ideas for horizontal waterfall chart - I suggest to submit it and ask your team to vote for it to get more traction.
    • Pivot table is very much getting through the process of rework and we see constant improvements to it so here I have to disagree with you that nothing is being done with it. It is getting better with each release.
  • I strongly discourage you from using 3rd party - they (long term) were cause of issues for us and we were left alone having to update/change objects which stopped working, so before going for extensions make sure you are prepared for that.

So my advice is not to use 3rd party but also if there is a need for a feature request it via the official ideation process as that is the only way your voice can be heard.

cheers and good luck

I completely agree with you, @gpierezan.

Qlik also provides us with options to enhance the user interface and style existing objects.

By using custom CSS, we can transform the look and feel of dashboards into something much more refined.

Additionally, Qlik Cloud offers extended styling capabilities for native objects, such as font customization, border definitions, and other visual adjustments. These features make it easier to align dashboards with branding requirements and improve the overall user experience.

So you completely Disagree with me.

I'm saying that QLIK IS NOT making any of the objects better. thats why we have to use third parties like vizlib and anychart.

A very, very smal example. The Waterfall Chart object just CANNOT be shifted from Vertical to Horizontal display. Such a small thing, yet not possible.

Not to mention the terrible pivot table design and many, many other enhancements that could be delivered but are just ignored by qlik.

If you are using Qlik Cloud, every month I have seen incremental updates in the objects so they are looking on it but maybe not in the pace you need.  What kind of visualization are you looking that Qlik doesn´t support ?

Check this demo app with whats new https://explore.qlik.com/app/4911b1af-2f3c-4d8a-9fd5-1de5b04d195c

Hi Pablo, the waterfall chart and the pivot table charts doesn't get any improovement for a long time.. may be these objects never had any improvemente despite all the askings an claims that users rise on the comunity.

to say just minor things, Waterfall chart cannot be horizontal, such a litle improvemente but a major thing if you are tring to analize information on a PnL loook alike.

The pivo table is eve worse! not even having the dimensiona labe on the top of a dimension is possible! not to say about diferent color background for sintetic dimensions and so on...

no I didn't creat cause i didn't know about it and how to do it. thanks for the hint. I'm going to create some sugestions right now.

About the third parties. I would love not to use it but they are so much ahead of default objects that seem like even desing an UX team a qlik doesn't know it exists. There are many obvious enhacements to be done. Shifting the responsability of having enhancements to the users looks kind of lazzy to me.

I cannot approve but I voted on it as I also like the idea.

Ideation process is collective community feedback - you create idea and then Qlik is looking at it and checking who else is liking this idea, how many people actually need it etc. Once I had an Idea i really wanted to be implemented so I asked all my friends and workmates to "like"/"vote" it and so they did. Funny enough this was my initial post: https://community.qlik.com/t5/Suggest-an-Idea/Horizontal-Vertical-view-toggle-in-Combo-Chart/idi-p/1... and then I also created my idea. As you can see it was about having horizontal combo chart which seems very familiar to your idea @gpierezan

anyway good luck and hopefully it gets delivered at some point.
