Hello,
In several of our applications, we use straight tables with the chart exploration feature to allow our users to build their own layouts. They save these layouts using bookmarks, but here’s the problem: when I modify the application itself for example, by adding a new column my users don’t see it because they’re “stuck” on the bookmarks they created earlier.
I’ve found a workaround that involves updating a public bookmark whenever a column is added. The user then uses my bookmark to see the new column appear and subsequently recreates their own bookmark based on mine.
This is quite a hassle isn’t there a simpler way to display the new changes without having to recreate the bookmarks from scratch?
Thanks in advance
Hi @aswk
If I'm not wrong, when creating a bookmark you can select if store the layout or not. Hence, if only the filters are stored, the layout should be reactive to the changes.
Kind Regards
Daniel
Thanks for your reply!
Actually, this option is enabled, because I need it to save each user's specific layout, but what I didn't mention is that if I create a new column, it won't even appear in the list of available columns in the menu of the chart exploration.
That's the real issue.
Hi @aswk !
This is a known limitation of the current implementation.

I can confirm that there is a work item in design for improvements around this area. 🙂
Having an idea on ideation can help have it prioritised.
Thanks Daniele but I can't seem to create anything on ideation, I get the following message :
"Trying to access the Support Case Portal? or Downloads page? Connect with an agent now via live chat (click help icon lower right of page)
Product issue? Please post a question in one of our many product forums [https://community.qlik.com/t5/Forums/ct-p/Forums] or create a case with Qlik Support [https://community.qlik.com/t5/crmsupport/page]"

Hi @aswk , start a live chat with customer support and they will help you with that.
Ok, so to access this page, you need to have your account linked to a business account.
That's the case for my company's IT account, so I'll just log in with that one.
Glad they could sort it out! 🙂
