Bookmarks problem: Apply selections only

It is possible to select "Apply selections only" when selecting a bookmark. This option is described as that it "will just apply the selections of the bookmark to the app, clearing any previous selections. It will not apply any layout settings if they were saved with the bookmark."

It's not working for us, in Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows November 2025 patch 2 (i.e. the latest version). The saved layout is indeed applied. Anyone else experiencing this? Feels like a bug to me.

It turns out this is not a bug from Qlik's point of view (but support will raise it to the R&D team as a possible feature implementation).

What "apply selections only" does is that when a bookmark is applied this way, it ignores the "save sheet location" option. But that's it. It does not take in consideration the save layout option (or the save variables option) - those features are applied nontheless.

To me it feels like the "apply selections only" feature was forgotten when the "save layout" feature was implemented in bookmarks, and now the title "apply selections only" is misleading. We can only hope Qlik extends the implementation of "apply selections only" so that layout changes stored in the bookmark are ignored as well.
