Compact and user friendly year date selection

I am looking to have a user friendly and intuitive and compact way to select time ranges for a sales dashboard.  I have tried filter panes that are getting me closer and "Date picker" does not seem to be the solution.  I am looking for something similar to this: Analyze 40+ F1 races since 1950 with Qlik Sense

But I am open to other suggestions.  Thank you!

I think you can play with the Filter charts and also combine those with the Layout Container to have better control of your Sheets:

As Mark is writing, filter pane and layout container can be a way to explore.

In addition to filter pane you could also predefined certain date intervals using clickable buttons (alone or bundled in a layout container) with the button you can predefine a selection or activate a bookmark of selections.
