Custom tooltip or hover text for table/pivot cells in Qlik Sense

I’m working with a Qlik Sense table/pivot-style view and I need to show extra validation details when users hover over a specific cell or row.

The use case is a fatigue management table where the main cell shows a short status like OK or Fatigue Exception, but I would like to show a longer explanation on hover, similar to a custom tooltip.

I know custom tooltips are available for several chart types, but I can’t find the same option for table/pivot cells.

Is there any native way to add a custom tooltip or hover text to a table/pivot cell in Qlik Sense?

If not, what is the recommended workaround?

Current workaround I’m considering:

• showing the detail in a separate Error Detail row/column
• using a text object beside the table
• using an extension if native table/pivot does not support it

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi

In Qlik Sense, native Table and Pivot Table objects do NOT support custom tooltips for individual cells.

But give a try .

Create a master dimension or measure.

In the master item settings enable Info icon.

Add the detailed explanation in the description field.

Use that master item in your table.

..

When users hover the info icon, the detailed explanation appears.
