I have an App on QLIK Sense used by about 10 users with Professional license. Each user created custom sheets (Unpublished) Now I need to export the App but I found it difficult to preserve the information.
1) If I use the "Duplicate" feature I lose all unpublished custom sheets (We cannot publish these sheets)
2) If I import the app file found in the ...\Apps folder, we do not lose the custom sheets created by the users but the owner is overwritten by the user doing the import. Unfortunately we also lose all the sheet tags. Why do we lose them?
3) I tried to connect to the QSR database on postgress, I modified the Name field of the AppObjects table and I see this change on the QMC but not on the HUB. Is the name of the Sheet the Name field of the AppObjects table? Why do I not see if I modify this field the name of the sheet on the HUB?
Any help is appreciated
Greetings
Diego
Hi @DiegoAnt
Please see this article for what can be saved - by importing the binary file in the apps older - and what cannot.
Kind regards...
Hi @Frank_S
To be more precise, I am in a company division project, a client will be divided into 2 distinct companies. So some users will be migrated to one company and the others to the second company.
We currently have an installation of Qlik Sense from November 2019 with Patch 13, with 7 applications and around 10 users (they are all senior managers) with professional licenses, and some of these have produced more than 300 objects (sheets) per application over time.
We cannot ask these managers to rename and publish these objects, both for a serious problem of privacy but also of their time. And we don't have time either during the migration week where Qlik will not be available to users.
I need a faster way to migrate these customized objects, also because in the future we may need to extend the number of tables present in the Apps or correct any bugs.
We need a quick way to "Clone Apps"
A simple and quick solution could have been to associate TAGs with Objects (Sheets)
I tried to create TAGs for each User, I associated them with the private sheets (unpublished) of the users to have the possibility of reconstructing the ownership of the Sheets.
I don't understand why after I imported the binary present in the ..\Apps folder, in addition to losing all the Owners of the sheets, it seems that the TAGs are also lost even though the import was done on the same Server where those TAGs are present!
