You are limited in QS as to how much formatting is available. Sometimes there are workarounds depending on which object you are using.

Also, take a look at Qlik Branch for extensions that can give you more formatting options.

You can make your application more beautiful by using Mashup development. For this you use the module 'Dev Hub'.
