Does Qlik sense allow for integration with a  MYSQL database? If so, what is required?

You can use ODBC to connect to MySQL database. You can download the connecter  MySQL :: Download Connector/ODBC 

Once you configure ODBC to your MySQL databaser server, 

In Qlik Sense, you can add new data source using the ODBC option and select the ODBC DSN you have setup.
