Qlik Sense - SSE integration with Chart Expressions.

Question is: If I want to set up an Analytics Connection with a REST API but ONLY want to use Chart Expressions/Functions with it (no data load functions). Do I need to configure the connection in the Data Load Editor still? Or can I just set up the connection in the QMC and then write chart expressions sending data to and from my API.

If no further connection is necessary, can someone share the syntax to make a REST call from the chart expression. When I write:

endpoint.ScriptEval(...)

I get "ScriptEval" is not a valid function"
