The sum function in sheets - auto option different from sum option

Hi, I don't understand what is the reason for the difference between the sum with auto function and the sum with sum function?

I think that the sum function is more accurate, the auto option sometimes seems to be too big.

Hi @midnight1 ,

When you select Auto = it will evaluate the expression at an overall level & give the output, where as when you select Sum = it will evaluate only sum of the values present in the column. hence, Sum will give lower value than Auto.
