Variable extesion

Hello!

I am trying to create a variable extension that will toggle all visualizations withing one sheet.  First, is that a possibility or do I need to create extensions for each.  Secondly, under variables in the edit section, I am not rendering any data in the NAME box.  It just states <select a value> and the drop down does not offer any values?  Can someone assist...please?
