Where to declare Formulas?

Hi everybody,

I have a principlequestion: There are multiple ways to declare Formulas:

1. Directly in the Dashboard

2. as Masterelement

3. as Variable (through the Dashboardinterface)

4. as Variable (in the Script).

What is the difference between option 2-4? Do they all work in the same way or are there possible problems with an option or is it just about "style"?
