I'm not sure that's a bug at all else I would tend to the R&D opinion that's working as intended. The minus-char has a special meaning within the search by excluding the following string. IMO the suggestions from Stefan to select the values are quite practically.
The other mentioned behaviour in regard to searches of *'* respectively *-* returning the same results didn't occur now in QV 12.5 else it worked like expected and only the specified chars are found.
