Adhoc reporting provides you the ability to create a report on your own without relying on the data team. Specifically, you want to be able to create a report by populating it with dimensions and measures which you can choose on your own from a list.
Depending on the user, you can show or hide certain dimensions or metrics. If you would like end users to create their own tables / reports, you may use this feature to dynamically add/remove dimensions or metrics.
