Qlikview server license

Hi all,

We have a server license and it’s licensed to my personal user.

TODAY it’s my last day at a current work and I’m interested in allowing other users to work on QV server as developers. I’ve added their users to the server administrators and Qlikview administrators groups on the server, as well as adding them to developer CALs license in QMC. But it didn’t help… the users can’t open any QV document since it recognizes Qlikview desktop as a personal addition and not a server one.

What else I can do? Please help!

Thanks in advance

Leasing License from QlikView Server

In order to lease a license from QlikView Server the following steps needs to be done on the client:

Option 1: (If User domain and server authentication are the same)

Launch QlikView Desktop client

From the menu, go to File -> Open in Server...

Enter the address to QlikView Server using the qvp protocol (example: qvp://myserver )

Hit Connect

Open a document. The license is now leased from the Qlikview Server

Close and relaunch QlikView Desktop client. You should now be able to work with local

documents and the client is fully licensed.

Are the users leasing licenses from the server? IF they have never done so, they will need to connect to the server to start the lease. They need to:

    Start QV desktop

Click File | Open in Server

In the server box, type the server URL using a "qvp" type - for example qvp://yourserver123

Open any document on the server

That should start the license lease

The users do open Qlikview desktop from the server.

The difference between us that every one of us enters the server with his own Windows user and password.

It's just that when they open it, it says it's personal addition.

When I open it from the same location it opens the desktop server version and then there's this popup window saying it's licensed to my user.
