Alerts to emails from the data model

We'd like to send alerts to emails that are in the data model. Is that possible? Or is it on the roadmap?

Alternatively, is it possible to use an API to generate a bunch of alerts with conditions for users? For example, if Sales Rep A has a new Opportunity over $250k then his manager gets an alert.

This is not something that Qlik Alerting is currently designed to do as the users are linked to the Qlik Sense user license. I would suggest adding your idea to the ideation board for product management to review https://community.qlik.com/t5/Ideas/idb-p/qlik-ideas

you can use Qlik Alerting and with the right combination of data model, section access and alerting you will achieve your needs.

Hi,

New to Alerting. In what capacity could Section Access solve this? From what I've seen there is not an option to conditionally send reports to certain users on the distribution list, only to conditionally send the report to all or none. We are also limited to the users in our AD group without the possibility to variableize emails coming from the data model into the distribution list. Would one need to set up an alert for every combination of measure, user, and manager?

Thank you.

Hi @TylerR

Have a look at the Managed Shared Option under the distribution step on the alert:

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/alerting/June2020/Content/QlikAlerting/data-alert-types.htm#anchor-2

This option will respect section access in the app and scan the data as the recipient of the alert as opposed to the creator of the alert.
