Hi folks,
How can I display the x-axis label in a continuous line chart with 96 possible values for the dimension (5 minutes intervals of a day)?
It seems like it's a problem with the chart size, try increasing it and see if you can view the axis.
Hi @sonkumamon , unfortunately, even when I maximize the chart, the x-axis remains unseen.
Try to change it to non-continuous and see what happens.
Hi @sonkumamon , they continuous scale button is disabled, so I can't uncheck it. However, notice that I need the line to fit the chart without scrolls since it's supposed to be understood at a glance.
I've tried changing number of axis values from Max to Auto. The labels show up, but the chart is unreadable since it needs the scroll.
Hi @morenoju, I have the same issue, have you found any solution to display labels on the x-axis? 🙂
Hi @lashagoch , unfortunately never worked.
I still keep getting complaints from users about this now and then.
Do you need all labels? Or do you want to show only some of them, for example the min or max of all values? When continuous is enabled the labels are being dropped, but you can show labels as a workaround as value label. Like this. Use the dual function: dual(Timestamp, sum(Speed)) and format is Measure expression. Enable 'Show values'
Hi @eddie_wagt , thanks for the suggestion. However, I really need the labels to show up on the usual a-axis.
It's hard to believe that it's not possible... I'm still looking for a way to achieve it.
Hi @morenoju,
One possible solution would be to use derived fields. In doing so, you can set the field tags to specify how to display the fields on a continuous axis.
The $qualified and $simplified field tags are the key here. The field tagged with $qualified will display when zoomed in, the $simplified will show when zoomed out.
