We are in Nov 2022 Sense version. Any idea why I am not able to disable persistent colors checkbox?
I got around 500 values for the 2nd dimension but with cycle value in nprinting at a time <15 values are active for 2nd dimension, instead of Qlik decides the color for each dimension value I would like it to follow my 12 colors sequence. So just wanted to disable this checkbox!
Sample app is attached
Hi @Digvijay_Singh, I've checked in the oldest version I have access (May 2021 Patch 3), and this behaviour also happens in that version, when the second dimension is set, and the colors option is by dimension, the persistent colors option is checked and can't be disabled.
As a workaround you can set color 'by expression' and use Color(RowNo()) as expression... I have done just a quick tests, maybe it doesn't works in all situations.
There are some limitations when two dimensions are set, our R&D team suggest the following:
Color by rank see https://community.qlik.com/t5/Official-Support-Articles/Top-10-Viz-tips-2020-part-IV/ta-p/1769697
Random palette see https://community.qlik.com/t5/Official-Support-Articles/Top-10-Viz-tips-part-VII-QlikWorld-2023/ta-p...
It is also suggested to vote for previous ideation so the team has awareness of how many customers would like to have this feature.
Kind Regards,

Thanks, I was thinking on similar lines. But its strange to see this grey checkbox, if its not allowed to disable, Qlik should have used any other better UI control rather than checkbox. In one of the old youtube qlik video I saw it enabled so wanted to know the cases where we can see it enabled.
Thanks,
Digvijay
