Need help with best practices documentation for editing published application

Can you please help with best practices guide which confirms editing the published app should be avoided.

Link process to edit the app but does not say if its a qlik best practice. Please help

The link describes the only way you should edit a published app. Make a copy, edit the copy, publish the copy replacing the previously published version. After that you can, if you want, delete the copy.
