Table columns no longer movable by user?

Since the November update (which added horizontal scrolling to tables) table columns can no longer be moved/sorted by users.

Was the scroll bar meant to replace this functionality completely?

Being able to temporarily move columns of interest to the beginning of large tables was actually a very helpful feature for many use cases and now forces users to create duplicate sheets in published apps and go into edit mode rather than quickly shift a few columns around while they're working.
