Connect with mysql database in localhost & remote webhosting

Hi,

How to connect Qlik Sense with mysql database which is in localhost ? remote ?

I tried to do that using 'Data Connections' -> 'Create new connections'.

But I couldn't find correct steps for it.

Please support me.

you will need to install MySQL driver (connector) first

MySQL :: Download Connector/ODBC

then follow this for ODBC

it shoud show up under System DSN and you have to create that DSN first using Windows ODBC Admin tool.

Also pay attention to your windows system version (64 bit or 32) and a driver version you downloaded (64 vs. 32).

They should match.

If your windows is 64 bit but driver is 32, it is a bit more difficult to setup so check on that

in control panel, type "odbc" in search box. make sure again your windows os version and driver version "bitness" is the same

will going to connect my remote mysql database which is hosted in other

location ?

Am I need to adhere same steps and procedures to connect with it? But its

same idea but you will need a hostname / port for that remote database. Talk to the person who maintains that database
