I'd like to use the native Postgres connector rather than the ODBC connector, since it allows me to skip the hassle of the Windows ODBC admin tool. However, I get consistently worse performance using the native connector. The difference is a factor of about 4x, which really adds up with larger datasets!
Is there some hidden go-faster-switch I can turn on, or is the native postgres connector simply rubbish?
