We're using Qlik Web Connector to load data from our Sharepoint site. This worked fine all the time until beginning of February. Every now and then the data load now fails. In the Connector's logs we then get:
APIConnectorInterfaces.Exceptions.APIConnectorException: Failed on attempt 1 to GET. (Unable to connect to the remote server) ---> System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 52.105.137.25:443
This is obiously a Microsoft issue. We got in touch with MS support, but they're asking for additional information.
We increased the Connector's log level to TRACE. But this does not help.
We did not change anything, there is always the same data load script running. Most of the time it runs fine. You can not tell when it will fail again and for how long this will last. At least things clean up by itself eventually. Until it will just fail again sometime ...
Does anybody know this error?
It turned out to be a firewall issue. Although we’re always using the same requests, the Qlik Web Connector seems to connect to different servers. One of these serves has not been allowed by the firewall rules.
Unfortunately the error message ("target machine actively refused it") is a kind of misleading ...
