Qlik Sense Enterprise Client Managed - Snowflake connection via ODBC Driver with OAuth

Dear Qlik Sense community,

we are looking into authenticating to Snowflake with OAuth for a data connection from Qlik Sense Enterprise (onPrem). The normal Snowflake connector for onPrem does not support OAuth (only in the SaaS version).

From a guide from Qlik we got the suggestion to use the Snowflake ODBC driver, which can support OAuth, see here:

https://docs.snowflake.com/en/developer-guide/odbc/odbc-parameters#connection-parameters

In this setup the ODBC driver expects a valid OAuth token in the token-parameter for that connection. This could be updated by a scheduled script, e.g. via Python or PS which requested a new token and updates the value in the registry.

I am curious if anybody used this approach? Or do you have any other suggestion for using OAuth authentication to Snowflake from an Qlik Sense onpremise?

Best regards,

Steffen
