Hello,
I'm creating an app to track our daily production and we are planning on having someone input the daily production goal each morning. I was hoping to have them enter in a spreadsheet, save the spreadsheet, then it updates in Qlik during the normal update schedule for this app. I've seen a lot of articles about attaching a file, but that seems like it's static data. Is there a way to create a connection to a spreadsheet like this? Or is there another solution?
thats quite straightforward
Create Connection --> All Files --> Enter the network path
And give appropriate name
No Completely clear on your requirement but from what i understood it seems like you need to create a connection to a folder (which would be a network drive or s3 or similar) and put the excel file there.
the user would update the excel on that shared location
Correct, the excel file will be in a shared network folder for the user to update each morning and that's what I need to connect to.
thats quite straightforward
Create Connection --> All Files --> Enter the network path
And give appropriate name
This worked, thank you for your help.
hi @dplr-rn , using this method will Qlik Sense automatically update once changes have been saved in the network folder, or will someone have to attach and load the updated file to Qlik?
Thanks 🙂
Do you mean changes to the file? If so qliksense will pick it next time it reloads.
If you mean changes to folder path. You will need to update the connection
Hi
I have uploaded a excel file via the QLIKsense data editor in the HUB.
Who could I update the data in Qlik when the data is updated in the original excel file?
I've tried "Load data"
Thanks in advance
