Controlling access to apps by AD-Group membership

I want to limit access to certain apps only to those users that are members of a particular AD-Group (executives). I've found this youtube-tutorial which solves this problem with custom properties but no AD: Qlik Sense Stream Management Security Rules and Exception Management - YouTube

But I'm unsure how to apply this to AD-Groups.

Do I have to "connect" a custom property to an AD-Group?

No, you do not have to use custom properties at all if you have attributes from AD (or any UDC). A better reference point would be this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5nBdt969XI

The concepts in the previous video are fine but I think the one that I did better explains things for basic scenarios.
