Hi all,
having to set up a multi-node environment (with at least 2 consumer nodes) on windows servers in the cloud , I would like to know if the servers must be in the domain (domain1\server1, domain1\server2,...) or if they can also be in workgroups (not in domain), considering that the users could be created locally, potentially connecting to the 2 different consumer nodes (login would be like server1\user).
If possible it would be useful to know the pros and cons of the 2 scenarios.
Thanks in advance
Hello,
Domain is the preferred way, makes it also easier to change a password for the service user in one go.
If you use local users you specify .\username during the installation. Make sure to have the same name and same password on all nodes. Then check that you can access the share with that user without the popup for username and password.
Since Windows is doing the authentication for logging into qlik sense, you would only be able to use the internal created users to logon. If you need other users you would have to configure different ways once Qlik Sense is i stalled. https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense-admin/May2024/Subsystems/DeployAdministerQSE/Content/Sense_DeployA...
If you would have a domain joined machine all domain users would be able to logon.

Sebastian
