Hi @Karthik3,

Yes, running the PostgreSQL database on a dedicated/stand alone server is supported. Refer to the following documentation for more details.

Thanks Chip,

Even I thought the same and seen those articles and implemented the solution but qlik is saying now that its not supported. So confused.  Looking for someone who actually done this.

Thanks rafeal. I have seen this article too but thanks for pasting it again here. Will send this as proof. I will enquire who in qlik is saying its not supported.

I changed db encryption from Md5 to scram and also moved postgres to its own server but the connection is not working unless in the pg_hba file md5 is mentioned. If we keep scram in pg_hba the connection to central and postgres does not work. This seems to be a bug in qlik and when contacted support they said its not supported.

you can be sure it is fully supported with the correct version, and it is always my recommended installation.

as far as i know, it has to be md5 (but can't be 100% sure)

Rafaeal,

For postgres do you have a VM or a physical server?

Hi @Karthik3

my best example:

3 VM: Qlik Sense node in AWS m5.8xlarge

1 VM: Postgres Repository & Shared Folder in AWS m5.xlarge

Hope this helps.
