Do We Lose Custom Properties and Security Rules During Upgrding Qlik Sense ?

Hello,

I’m planning a Qlik Sense upgrade on the production environment and need to confirm whether custom properties and  custom security rules will remain intact after the upgrade.

Has anyone experienced any issues with losing these settings? What steps can I take to ensure they are preserved other that to do a backup before upgrading?

Thanks alot.

Thanks for your help!

Hey there @hudhud_hoda ,
No, you don't lose these settings during upgrades. In case of new actions available for security rules, those won't be enabled automatically on your custom security rule (so you may want to check if everything works as expected).
As a general suggestion, do a "test upgrade" on a separate environment (which should be aligned with the same configurations to your production environment) before upgrading production

Below is a link to a really good video about upgrading. There are also upgrade instructions in the help.

And always do a backup of filesystem and repository database (where properties and security rules are stored) before upgrade that you can revert to if needed.
