Error 23008 Error creating temporary file in LXW operation when exporting excel file

Hello!

We are using QlikSense on-prem, version Feb2024, and we are experiencing the following error:

23008 "LOCERR_LXW_ERROR_CREATING_TMPFILE" - Error creating temporary file in LXW operation.

This error occurs when users try to download data from a table or a pivot in Excel format. The issue has been happening for the past 10 days, at varying times during the day. Before the error occurs, users are able to download data in Excel format without any problems. To resolve the issue, we have to restart the Qlik Engine service. After the restart, users can again download data in Excel format. Notably, during the issue, data can still be downloaded in PDF format without any problems.

We have checked the logs, but they did not provide any useful information.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

Thanks!

Hi Danette,

1. Does the user have full read/write access to the temp file location?

2. I suggest deleted everything in your temp folder and trying again

Hello,

We have identified the root cause of the issue. It appears to be related to an nPrinting Excel report that was functioning correctly until it suddenly stopped working, triggering the error. This error in nPrinting is also affecting the ability of users to download Excel data within Qlik Sense dashboards.

We are currently investigating further to understand why this issue occurred and how we can resolve it to restore normal functionality. No luck so far. Any ideas?
