How to Configure a Rim Node to Function Only as a Scheduler Node in Qlik Sense

All,

I have the following services on one of the RIM node.

I want this node only to be scheduler node,  in order to do that which services should be disabled?

Hi,

So to make a rim node as a reload node. You just enable the scheduler services ? How do I test a reload task on this specific node?

Albert_Candelario

Hello @AdrianOh ,

You mean only for testing? if yes, just stop the services on the other node.

Cheers,

Albert

I never thought of this. Do you mean stop / disable  the scheduler services on the QMC on the other node? Will give it a try .

Is there way also to force some task to run on the new node? Like a load balance rules or some sort ?

Thanks

Hello @AdrianOh ,

Exactly, to disable/stop the scheduler service. Just got that idea if needs to be tested, I would expect that to work, but I haven't be able to test it myself yet so kindly let me know the outcome.

As of today, I am afraid tasks cannot be force to be executed on a particular node. I kindly suggest to vote on Ideation if there is an existing idea on this, otherwise kindly create a new one and share it here, so we can vote on it too.

Cheers,

Albert

So how does the load balance work for schedule task? Automatically pick up? Round robin?

Hi Dear @Chip_Matejowsky

Thanks for the answer, i have a similar situation, we have one central node and three RIM Nodes, the target of two of three RIM Nodes is only run task, the Enginee, Repository and Scheduler Windows services are runnning on RIM Task nodes, if i deactivate Enginee flag on nodes section on QMC, the central node not send task to RIM Nodes.

I don't want active enginee on this nodes because i neeed the resources for task, not for users

Can you help me please
