How to switch qlik sense to failover database (continuing Case #: 00120884)

Hi,

As suggested by @qlik support in Case #: 00120884, need your further kind help please on this regard.

  • Scenario:

I have one primary node (P1) and a failover node (F1).

P1 primary node is the central node with qlik sense (Version May2023 patch 6), also has Postgresql V14 installed separately in the same node. Qlik sense is pointing to this Postgresql db.

F1 failover node is in different country is the Rim node pointing to the Postgresql db of P1.

This F1 server ALSO has Postgresql V14- installed separately as failover replica of Postgresql db of P1.

I have setup a streaming replication from P1 postgresql to F1 postgresql.

  • Query:

When P1 goes down or becomes unavailable, I should have latest replica of Qlik sense databases (e.g. qsr, services, etc.) in F1.

How can I point P1 and F1 (as rim node) to the Postgresql db of F1 when P1 goes down ?

Will it be automatically pointed or I need to repoint it manually? In both the cases, could you please suggest the steps to follow.

Many Thanks

Ani
