For a customer we recenlty performed a carve-out of their qlik sense infrastructure migrating all servers from a set of vms in DOMAIN A to a different servers in a DOMAIN B.
We followed all the guidelines for the migration described here:
and we successfully migrate to the new infrastructure and users to DOMAIN B. We also changed the User Directory Connector settings to point the new Active Directory and everything works fine in the new scenario.
After the migration we noticed that the users were not being syncronized (tried to add new groups to Users for example). We than discovery that in recent Qlik Sense Version there is another field in public.Users table named "UserDirectoryConnectorName"
Attached the screenshot for a LAB environment.
Users that are migrated to the new Active Directory Domain still have the UserDirectoryConnectorName populated with DOMAIN A Value.
We noticed that if we change the value for the UserDirectoryConnectorName the User syncronization is being performed correctly.
So the question is: can you please confirm that it is safe to procede performing the bulk change for all users?
Thanks,
Hi Giovanni
The answer is yes, it should be fine
I would however take the standard precautions first: backup QSR (Repository DB) before making any manual changes
After making the changes, see if you can run a full sync of the UDC (User Directory Connector).
Then restart the services and run another sync.
