Network Latency from End User Network to Qlik Sense

Hello,

Is there a minimum recommended network latency between end user site and Qlik Sense consumer node (client managed)? Will 250ms of latency be acceptable from an end user performance perspective?

Thanks!

Hello @rodino,

There is some requirements in between Qlik Sense servers:

  • The Qlik Sense nodes in the cluster must have network latency below 4 milliseconds to connect to the file share server. Performance can degrade if this is not the case.
  • The bandwidth to the file share must be appropriate for the amount of traffic on the site. The frequency and size of the apps being saved after reloading, and opened into memory, drives this requirement. 1 Gigabit networking is suggested.

We do not specify the minimum latency needed between end user computers and Qlik Sense servers. But for any software and programs it's a fact that any latency below 100 milliseconds (ms) is considered good, and below 50 ms is very good. Higher than 100ms will be not good but could be acceptable, you need to do some test and check if that is acceptable for your environment/configuration.

Regards,

Benoit
