Hello @Bartosz

you should not directly update from June 2019 to February 2023. You need to to that a bit more graduately

June 2019 -> June 2020 -> May 2021 -> Feb 2022 and then Feb 2023

One of the reasons is that you first can change the Postgres version with Feb 2022 and above using the automated tool Qlik Postgres installer (QPI - https://community.qlik.com/t5/Official-Support-Articles/Upgrading-Qlik-Sense-Repository-Database-fro...), another reason is the compatibility which we only guarantee for 2 years back, and a bit behind in supported versions.

But a much easier approach that will allow you an one-step solution, is take a backup of the QSR database and then uninstall qlik sense, keeping the data and certificates. At the end rename c:\programdata\qlik

post that installs Feb 2023 (select don't start services) and restore the QSR DB into it. https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense-admin/February2023/Subsystems/DeployAdministerQSE/Content/Sense_De...

best regards

Well @Bartosz that depends on if you have a single or multi-node deployment.

Assuming you have a single central node deployment where all Qlik services run, then it should be fairly straight forward.

However, there is much preparation needed before attempting to upgrade.

Much of this information is covered in detail here:

If you have a multi-node deployment, it might be advantageous to request a meeting with Qlik Professional Services who are uniquely positioned to assist with complex environments.

Kind regards...

Can I download the latest package (February 2023 PAtch 2) 14.113.4.0 and upload it to the JUNE 2019 version or do I have to go one by one with the packages?? I know that the postgres version has changed but is it necessary to upgrade to a higher version??

Hi @Sebastian_Linser
for your 2nd method (the one that takes backup & install - restore db)
is it possible if we were to upgrade from November 2017 directy to Feb 2023 using that method?

Best Regards,

Lucky
