Hi guys,
I have a couple of questions about authenticating against Qlik Server Enterprise:
1) When authenticating in Qlik Desktop via authentication link from Qlik Sense Enterprise, does it matter much which user credentials are used?
If we are a group of let's say 3 Qlik Sense Desktop users, can we all authenticate in Qlik Sense Desktop using the same QlikAdmin user or does it have any limitation?
2) Can you provide an example of a client authentication link host URI to configure in the virtual proxy settings of the QMC? Is it http://serverIP? http://serverIP/hub/?
Thanks,
Juan
An update on this: I have been trying to authenticate against Qlik Sense Enterprise but after I insert domain/user and password I get the error below.
Is the Qlik Sense Enterprise authentication in Qlik Sense Desktop working for you guys?
Thanks
Hi @morenoju,
I know that I have been able to authenticate against enterprise server.
I do have a scenario where I haven't been able to though - which is when I'm connected via VPN to the network my server is on. However this is any issue on my side, not on Qlik side (to my knowledge) because our VPN policies only allow me to access RDP to connect to servers, so I cannot actually access our enterprise server directly via VPN, only indirectly through an RDP session.
Hi @Jared ,
Thanks a lot for sharing your experience. I might be experiencing similar issues with the policies to access the servers of my organization. I'll check that possibility.
Thanks,
Juan
@morenoju, what version of QS Server and Desktop? Also, the account has a user license(Token/Professional or Analyzer) assigned? Is QS Desktop on the same LAN as the QS server fully reachable via the hostname used in the auth link? Were youa able to check the Proxy logs on the server to make sure it does not indicated something other than a access pass issue?
Hi @Andre_Sostizzo ,
I'm using Qlik Sense Deskop April 2020 and Server February 2020. The account has a token and for what I see in the log it is unlikely to be an access pass issue.
I've reached out to the IT department of my company because it might be that the corporative network is blocking the port 4244 that Qlik use for authentication.
I'll let you guys know what we find out.
Thanks
