I am currently on a user token license model. In order to add additional user tokens, I need to convert to the professional/analyzer license model.
Currently the license is configured with a LEF.
....
My understanding was the LEF was offline.
Q1) This cannot be 100% accurate because somehow Qlik was able to convert user tokens to professional users on their end, WITHOUT using a new LEF or using the SLK. (This also cleared my license allocation rules when they made this switch). Any additional info on how Qlik manages client side LEF?
Q2) Can we still increase number of licenses (i.e. update to current license) while still using LEF?
Q3) Does the LEF have its own specific expiration? i.e. we HAVE to convert to SLK before a certain time?
Thanks. And I have these questions open with Qlik Sales but for some reason the answers are not clear or accurate.
For your first question, when activating the License we do contact our server. But you can do it completely offline to by copying and pasting the LEF information.
@Maria_Halley Thanks for your input but unfortunately that doesn't answer any of my questions. The license was already activated and being used for a while. But Qlik was able to make a change to the LEF on their end and impacted my Qlik site without me doing anything, can you provide insight on how that was possible, sounds like there is an active connection between client side and qlik server side (despite using LEF)?
