Qlik Sense with Local and public FQDN names

We have installed a single node Qlik Sense Enterprise server and want to have access from the public IP.
How to configure this server to be accessed from both:
 Local Access: https://hostname.domain.local
Public Access: https://hostname.domain.com

Hello @syammine

Setting this up mostly requires you to ensure that you have the environment configured correctly. Think of the Qlik Sense server in this case to operate much like a very simple web server (though it isn't one). Qlik Sense will listen to anything accessing it on the correct ports and addresses.

Simplified, the process looks like this:

  • Have the public IP assigned to the Qlik Sense Server.
  • Have the DNS set up correctly.
  • Make sure the required ports are open (including authentication).
  • Make sure you have the origin allow list set up correctly in Qlik Sense (this is the only step you need to perform on Qlik Sense, the rest is up to you and your network/network security admin).

This is simplified. You need to consider authentication and security and proper security hardening of your setup if you expose the server to the public.

Our Professional Services can assist you if you need direct help.

All the best,
Sonja
