We are upgrading QlikSense from Nov 2020 SR9 to QS Nov 2021 SR5. Upgrade on the central is successful but the RIM node upgrade failed. As per Upgrade guidelines on Multi node deployment
When upgrading a rim node, ensure that you use the same log-in account as was used for the initial installation of that node. Failure to do so means that the central node will not find the certificates installed on the node and you will need to perform a clean installation of the node.
We are not sure which account was used for the initial installation. How can we find out that?
Hello @TusharDev_Qlik,
Thanks for posting.
If the affected node is the RIM one, you could simply uninstall it and do a fresh install, sometimes you might need to uninstall the patches manually from the control panel before the major version of Qlik Sense can be properly uninstall.
I hope this helps you!
Cheers,
Albert
You should share more information for investigation, Repo logs or setup failed logs. Its hard to say what exactly the reason without checking the logs.

@rohitk1609 @Albert_Candelario ,
Do we need to keep the Central server Qlik services up and running when we upgrade RIM nodes?
We tried to upgrade RIM node keeping Qliksense Repository Database(QRD) service running on the central and we did not face any issues.
Hello @TusharDev_Qlik ,
As per the documentation the services should be stopped.
I am glad you could upgrade as desired!
Cheers,
Albert
