Hi Community,
We currently have a Qlik Sense server that is internal and most likely will never be made public. Should we still buy a SSL certificate for the server?
The only possibility we see for 'public' access is thru an AWS hosted site pulling data from the server thru the Qlik API. Do we need an SSL certificate to accomplish this?
Thanks for any insights and advice.
Extra security never hurts, if you are not concern, then you may want switch to HTTP , so you can avoid the Certificate error from the browser .
QMC > proxy > edit > ports > enable http.

Thanks, Gio. We already have http enabled for the moment.
Another thing...our URL is qlik.ourwebsite.local -- you can't get an SSL cert for that domain, correct? It has to be .com or another top level suffix.
Maybe this can answer your question:

Hi,
u cant use Nprinting On-demand feature. it need SSL is enabled in both Nprinting and Qlik Sense.
Difficult to open hub or qmc in Apple products (iphone, ipad).
@sasikumar uhmm? No mention of Nprinting, so no sure what the suggestion that comes from. You can use apple devices when http is enable and it used in http form..so..
