What is the difference between a Qlik Service Account and access to the QMC?

@daviesal

There are no limit to how many users can access the QMC. You can also give partial rights to the QMC, so a user for example can go in to create new triggers, but cannot see anything else.

There are pre defined roles that can be used.

Take a look at the below help section below for more info

The service account is the user that is running the services, so you can check the account under services in  Windows.

Hi @daviesal

The service account is the account that runs the services. It is also  used to run tasks etc.

Access to the the QMC are set by security rules  and/or roles, the first user that logs in after the installation automatically gets root admin rights and can log in to the QMC.

Thanks @Maria_Halley

Some follow up questions below on each topic please:-

QMC:-

- Is it the person with the root admin rights that can then subsequently allocate access rights to QMC for other people? Is there a limit to how many people can have access to the QMC?

- In order to have access rights to the QMC does a person need to have a Qlik Sense professional license or can they have a Qlik Sense Analyser license?

Qlik Service Account:-

How do I find out who has the Qlik Service Account? I mean where can I dind this information?
